The Indian billionaire businessman said that it’s a big day for him, and even asked his followers to suggest him a name for his new vehicle, finished in the dazzling Red Rage paint scheme.
While Mr. Mahindra managed to get his hands on one, the waiting period on Scorpio-N currently stretches up to 2 years! The demand for the 7-seat SUV has been phenomenal ever since bookings opened for customers. Mahindra currently retails the Scorpio-N at a base price of Rs 11.99 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 23.90 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).

The SUV is being offered with two powertrains – a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that puts out 130 hp and 300 Nm in its lower state of tune and 172 hp and 370 Nm (400 Nm with AT) in the higher tune; as well as a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine that generates 200 horsepower and 370 Nm torque (380 Nm with AT). Transmission options include a 6-speed MT as well as a 6-speed AT, with optional all-wheel drive configuration for the diesel powertrain.

On the feature front, the Scorpio-N comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a wireless phone charger, connected-car tech, a six-way powered driver seat, an electric sunroof, a semi-digital instrument cluster and more. The Mahindra SUV rivals the likes of Tata Harrier/Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector/Hector Plus, among other similarly priced mid-size SUVs.
