The Pikes Peak is the most powerful variant of the Multistrada V4 platform. It features Ducati’s new V4 Granturismo 1,158 cc engine, producing 170 hp and maximum torque of 125 Nm. Weighing at 66.7 kg, the engine has been tested over 200,000 km and has a valve clearance service schedule of 60,000 km.
To efficiently handle all that power, the Pikes Peak is armed with dual 330 mm Brembo discs with monobloc calipers at the front and a 265 mm Brembo floating caliper disc at the rear. Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India, said, “The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is one of a kind. It takes the sporty qualities of the Ducati adventure bike to the extreme with its dedicated ‘Pikes Peak’ livery, 17” front wheel with sports road tyres, single-sided swingarm, Öhlins suspension and brand-new Race Riding Mode.”
The Pikes Peak edition’s weight savings also come from the range of carbon fibre components that are exclusive to the model. It also gets a titanium Akrapovic exhaust. The Multistrada V4 is also the first bike to feature ADAS capabilities such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection. The tech suite is further appointed with a 6.5-inch TFT colour screen that has a host of features and the Ducati Connect system.

Some other aspects where the Pikes Peak gets more intense than the standard Multistrada V4 are higher and back set foot pegs that help with aggressive lean angles and the lowered and narrower handlebar delivering a sportier riding position. It also gets 17-inch Marchesini wheels made out of forged aluminium and wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso tyres. Four riding modes and a suite of advanced safety features such as Cornering ABS, wheeler control and different power modes are on offer as well.
Bookings for the 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4 ‘Pikes Peak’ edition are open across all authorised Ducati dealerships in the country. It bears a hefty price tag of Rs 31.48 lakh.
