The Nexa website now displays only five products, namely Grand Vitara, XL6, Ciaz, Baleno, and Ignis. In a segment that was dominated by the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross felt slightly outdated, and hence, replacing it with the much more modern Grand Vitara seems like the apt solution.

In other markets, the S-Cross (also known as SX4 S-Cross) entered its third generation about a year ago, however, it doesn’t seem like Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce the new version of the SUV in India considering it would now overlap with the Grand Vitara.
Instead, Maruti Suzuki is now working on a slightly smaller crossover/SUV which will be based on the Baleno. The ‘Baleno Cross’ has already been spied on test a host of times, however, the company is yet to confirm a launch date. It will obviously be positioned above the Baleno, and just like the premium hatch, will also be retailed through the company’s premium Nexa dealerships.
