Maruti Suzuki has just launched the CNG variants of S-Presso, starting at Rs 5.90 lakh. It is available only in two trims and is the tenth car in Maruti Suzuki’s current line-up to get the S-CNG treatment. The carmaker claims that the S-Presso delivers excellent fuel efficiency of 32.73 km/kg.
The S-Presso S-CNG is available in two variants. The LXi variant is priced at Rs 5.90lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the VXi is priced at Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Under the hood is the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 65 bhp and 113Nm of torque. However, in CNG mode, it produces 56 bhp and 82 Nm of torque and Maruti Suzuki claims that the S-Presso CNG can achieve a fuel economy of 32.7 km/kg. It comes only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The S-Presso CNG comes fitted with Electronic Control Units (ECU), an intelligent fuel injection system, stainless steel pipes and joints, along with integrated wiring harnesses for the CNG system. The S-CNG system also comes with a micro switch that ensures the engine is turned off and does not start during the CNG fuel-filling process.
