Engine and Transmission:
The Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport gets the company’s 1.2-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) petrol engine. As mentioned earlier, it produces 128 hp and 230 Nm torque. Mahindra claims that the SUV can go from 0-60 kmph in 5 seconds, and it is now the fastest SUV in the country under Rs 15 lakh. The power is delivered through a 6-speed manual transmission, Mahindra is not offering the XUV300 TurboSport with an automatic as of now.

On the other hand, both the Venue N-line and the Sonet 1.0 Turbo share the same engine. It is a 3-cylinder motor, producing 118 hp and 172 Nm of torque. In terms of transmission, the Venue gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission whereas the Sonet Turbo gets a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) option and the 7-speed DCT as well.
The Venue N-line even gets a retuned, stiffer suspension set up, that helps in reducing body roll and improves the vehicle’s handling. The XUV300 and the Sonet do not get any updates or adjustments in the handling department.

Gadgets and safety:
While the XUV300 TurboSport does not get any updates for the interior package, it does get an all-black colour scheme similar to the competition. Convenience features such as dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps are on offer and it also gets a 7-inch touchscreen. Mahindra’s BlueSense connected features, electrically powered ORVMs and steering mounted controls come with the TurboSport as well.
The Mahindra also has a GNCAP safety rating of 5 stars and has 6 airbags, ABS, ESP and hill assist among other safety features.

Sonet interiors
The Venue N-line on the other hand is better appointed with an 8-inch touchscreen, all-black interiors with red stitching and Hyundai’s Bluelink connected features. It even gets a sunroof, wireless charger, paddle shifters and automatic climate control among other popular features in the segment. Safety needs are met by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, TPMS and ESC in the Venue N-line.
The Sonet 1.0 Turbo also gets an all-black interior and sunroof. There is also a 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, air purifier and a 7-speaker Bose audio system. With the exception of having only 4 airbags, the rest of the safety suite in the Sonet is similar to that of the Venue.

While the Sonet and the Venue N-line might have less performance on paper, they do offer a lot more in terms of features and convenience than the XUV300.
Price:
All three SUVs in this comparison come under the Rs 15 lakh mark, the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport is the most affordable and priced between Rs 10.35 to 12.90 lakh. The TurboSport is available in three trim options, namely W6, W8 and the W8(O) with dual tone exteriors.The Venue N-line comes in second, with two variants on offer. It has been priced between Rs 12.16 lakh to 13.30 lakh. The Sonet is the costliest in this comparison with 5 variants on offer, ranging between Rs 10.95 lakh to 13.39 lakh.
